How do I find franchises by category?

Use the category chips at the top of the browse page or the category dropdown in the sidebar filters. You can also combine category with other filters like investment range, revenue, and verdict rating to narrow results.

What does the franchise verdict rating mean?

The verdict rating (A through F) is an algorithmic grade based on unit economics, franchisee turnover, SBA loan charge-off rates, and other risk factors extracted from public FDD filings and SBA 7(a) records. A-rated brands show strong fundamentals; F-rated brands show significant risk signals.

How current is the franchise data?

FDD data is refreshed annually as franchisors file updated disclosures with state regulators. SBA 7(a) loan data is updated quarterly from FOIA releases. Each brand page shows the FDD year it was sourced from.

Can I compare multiple franchises side by side?

Yes. Save brands you are interested in, then use the compare tool to view them side by side. You can compare up to four brands at once across investment, revenue, SBA charge-off rates, and other key metrics.
