What does the franchise verdict rating mean?

The verdict rating (A through F) is an algorithmic grade based on unit economics, franchisee turnover, SBA loan charge-off rates, and other risk factors extracted from public FDD filings and SBA 7(a) records. A-rated brands show strong fundamentals; F-rated brands show significant risk signals.

How current is the franchise data?

Accepted Answer

FDD data is refreshed annually as franchisors file updated disclosures with state regulators. SBA 7(a) loan data is updated quarterly from FOIA releases. Each brand page shows the FDD year it was sourced from.
